Paint Magic was incorporated on July 24, 1986. It was formed to use volunteers to "coordinate exterior beautification on the homes of senior citizens within the Magic Valley of Idaho." It’s initial registered agent was G. Kent Taylor (Public Accountant) of Twin Falls. Cliff Snider, Idaho Power, was also instrumental in the new program.

Membership in Paint Magic is open to any individual who subscribes to the purposes and basic policies of the Paint Magic corporation (Bylaws - Art II, Sec 1). The Bylaws do not require any dues for membership, and the Board of Directors can elect anyone to membership (Art III, Sec 5). An annual meeting shall usually be held in the first week of each December, where the members shall elect the Board of Directors (Art IV, Sec 1). Officers shall be elected annually by the Board of Directors at their first meeting (Art VII, Sec 2). (This could be immediately after the annual membership meeting.) None of the officers need to be a director (Art VII, Sec 1).
Starting in 1986 with 20 houses, through 2002 Paint Magic Volunteers have painted 433 houses for seniors. During this time, thousands of volunteers have shared their time, energy and good will for the benefit of older citizens of our communities.
